Important Notice

Medical examination requirements vary by country and occupation. Some countries only accept medical examinations performed by government-approved panel physicians. Applicants should not undergo medical examinations until advised by the employer, embassy, or immigration authority. Medical certificates are generally valid for 3 to 6 months, depending on the destination country.

Medical Examination Requirement

As part of the work permit/work visa application process, applicants may be required to undergo a medical examination to confirm that they are medically fit to work and do not pose a public health risk in the destination country.

The medical examination must be conducted by a licensed medical practitioner or an approved medical facility recognized by the destination country's immigration authorities, where applicable.

The Medical Certificate Should Confirm

The applicant has undergone a comprehensive medical examination.
The applicant is physically and mentally fit for employment.
The applicant is free from any contagious or infectious diseases that may pose a public health risk.
The applicant is not suffering from any medical condition that would prevent them from carrying out the duties of the intended employment.
The applicant has received any mandatory vaccinations required by the destination country (if applicable).

Medical history review
Chest X-ray (Tuberculosis screening)
Tuberculosis (TB) Test
HIV Test (only where permitted under the destination country’s laws)
Hepatitis B and C Screening
Syphilis (VDRL/RPR) Test
Complete Blood Count (CBC)
Urinalysis
Blood Sugar Test
Pregnancy Test (where legally required and applicable)
COVID-19 vaccination or other vaccination records (if required)
Vision and hearing assessment

Certificate Validity

Unless otherwise specified by the destination country's immigration authority, the medical certificate should generally be issued within the last three (3) months before submission of the work permit/work visa application.
